Crystals can help us make connections with higher beings, both angels and crystal mentors, or oversouls, who hold the energy of each type of crystal.

Angels

Crystals have traditional connections with angels. Angels vibrate at a higher frequency than that of the Earth, which is why crystals are a useful intermediary.

Guardian angels aren’t merely vaguely religious figures somewhere ’out there’ — they’re dynamic figures who assist you with your life. Invoking your guardian angel is particularly useful if you are walking in a dark place, if you have a difficult task to perform or if you’re meeting someone with whom there is a conflict. But it’s no use waiting until you need your angel before you try to make contact — do it now!

There are several crystals that assist you in making contact with angelic beings. Choose one from the list below or use a stone you’ve picked up that speaks of angels to you.

Celestite links to the angelic realms and your guardian angel and stimulates spiritual insights. Its ethereal blue brings about profound inner peace, dispersing anxieties, calming incandescent emotions and promoting clarity of mind.

Exercise: Meeting your guardian angel

✵ Spend a few moments relaxing, breathing gently and evenly and letting any tension flow out of your body through your hands and feet. Hold your angelic crystal in your hand and place it over your heart.

✵ When you’re ready, picture a shaft of light coming down in front of you and reaching into your heart. This shaft of light reaches from the high-vibration angelic realms down to the Earth plane. Ask your guardian angel to travel down this shaft of light to meet you.

✵ When your angel arrives, feel it move round to stand behind you, wrapping you in protective wings.

✵ Spend as long as you like with your angel, building up trust and enjoying the sense of protection. Ask your angel to be with you whenever you need protection or guidance. Affirm to yourself that this is so.

✵ Ask the angel to make a powerful connection to your crystal so that whenever you hold the crystal, your angel is present.

✵ Thank your angel for being there.

✵ The shaft of light recedes back to the angelic realms. Before opening your eyes, check you are enclosed in a bubble of light and that the Earth Star chakra beneath your feet is open and grounding you.

✵ When you are ready, bring your attention fully back into the room and open your eyes.

Note: You can adapt this exercise to meet other angelic beings, such as the angel of healing, or to receive guidance.

The crystal mentors

All crystals have higher beings, crystal mentors or oversouls (as Michael Eastwood of Aristia has named them), who hold the energy of that type of crystal. They have an interconnected hive mind that accesses the whole. They are the consciousness that fills the spaces between the atoms of the crystal. They are anxious to make contact and will happily guide you in your crystal work and your daily life.

Exercise: Meeting a crystal mentor

✵ Sit comfortably and hold your crystal in your hands or put it where you can comfortably gaze into it (use a Crystal Wisdom Oracle or Crystal Oversoul card if you do not have a crystal).

✵ Invite the crystal mentor to make itself known to you.

✵ Half close your eyes and gaze at the crystal or the card.

✵ Open your third eye chakra and feel the crystal energy taking it to a higher frequency. Feel yourself wrapped in crystal love.

✵ Be open to the crystal mentor communicating with you through images, intuitions, thoughts, impressions, feelings or bodily sensations.

✵ When you have finished, thank the crystal mentor for its guidance and break off contact, but be aware that you can reconnect at any time.
