Female Nature Spread

Female Nature Spread

On This Day

Female domination and oppression continue in many parts of the world where women legally live as prisoners, unable to leave their homes unless under male guardianship and not possessing essential equal human rights.

Today is International Women’s Day, first celebrated in the United States in 1909. The United Nations advocates awareness and action on this day regarding the social, political, and human rights of women around the world.

Summation of Spread

The High Priestess and the Empress combined create the complete female archetype. A woman’s dual nature is represented in the two cards, as the High Priestess echoes inner truth and reflective nature while the Empress represents birth and creative potential.

Pondering human rights, a survey of humanity begs the question as to why any sane species would inflict so much brutality and degradation upon half its population—especially the half that gives birth to the entire species! Having no say over their future or their bodies, the world unacceptably looks the other way and chalks it up to “foreign culture.” This spread takes a look at control, repression, and expression operating in your life, regardless of your gender.
