Kwanzaa Spread

On This Day

Kwanzaa is not a religious holiday but a cultural holiday that can be practiced by anyone, and it is often celebrated alongside other holidays such as Christmas.

Today is the beginning of Kwanzaa, a holiday created by Maulana Karenga as the first specifically African American holiday. Its name derives from a Swahili phrase meaning “fruits of the harvest.”

Summation of Spread

Kwanzaa celebrates seven principles for seven days. It is on these principles the Kwanzaa Spread is based.

The Hierophant links to any brand of dogma or learning, religious or not. He stands for a shared cultural heritage and following certain disciplines. He reminds you of where to place your faith and why ritual and ceremony hold an important place in society.
