Little Mermaid Spread

On This Day

Hans Christian Andersen’s version of The Little Mermaid has a much different ending than the film version. In Andersen’s version, the sea witch instructs Ariel to murder the prince. Ariel cannot bring herself to do it. Sunrise breaks over the ocean, and she throws herself into the sea and dies.

The Little Mermaid movie was released this day in 1989, and a classic was born.

Summation of Spread

What do you want to explore? Ariel is a fiercely curious heroine who desires to break boundaries and explore the unknown world beyond her aquatic home. Inspired by Ariel’s tenacity, the Little Mermaid Spread asks questions to help you dive into adventure and romance.

The Fool, a spirit in search of experience, is the single most purposeful card to use when considering a new adventure. Operating outside normal rules, free and innocent, he is open to any experience coming his way. Try walking with the Fool’s attitude from time to time and see what happens.
