Three-Card Spread
Tarot
Casual Clairvoyance

This is the simplest spread (unless you’re doing a very basic one-card reading), but it offers so much within such a contained form. Have the person you’re reading for shuffle the cards until they feel satisfied, and then hold the deck close to their heart and ask any question they may have. If they don’t have a question, that’s fine, and if you’re doing a reading for yourself, you should of course shuffle for yourself.

Fan the cards out in a line so that each card is visible. If a certain card seems to want to stay hidden, let it. Have the person you’re reading for choose three cards, or if you’re reading for yourself, let your intuition help you to choose. If the answer to your question seems hidden from you, perhaps choose a hidden card. Sometimes your card will make your fingers tingle, or it might feel slightly warm beneath your hands.

Lay the three cards faceup. You can interpret them, from left to right, as past, present, and future, as is commonly done. But if you’re doing a reading for yourself, you of course already know your past and much of your present. So consider asking the cards, “What is going on for me, consciously?” “What is going on for me, unconsciously?” and “What should I focus on today?”
