I’ve never met a single person who did not enjoy the smell of a pine—his dreamy scent is due to chemical compounds called terpenes. Pinus is the largest genus of the Pinaceae family, which evolved around 153 million years ago, making it one of the oldest and largest conifer families. Pine seeds are carried in pine cones, and pine trees carry both male and female cones on the same tree.

MEDICINAL PROPERTIES

Pine oil can help loosen a cough and relieve other respiratory issues or sinus conditions. Pine nuts from within pine cones are hard to get at, but are delicious. The resin can be easily harvested for incense, and the white inner bark is edible and nutritious. You can also make an energizing tea from pine needles.

MAGICAL PROPERTIES

Pine can bring you abundance in life, so consider working with him for spells on money, health, love, success and so on, as he will amplify those vibrations. There are several ways you can do this: At the beginning of spring, add pine to your floor wash and mop your floors to help the seeds of your intentions blossom. You can also place an intention in a single pine needle and burn it with a green candle to release that intention into the universe. Keep going with as many intentions and pine needles as you like.
