Phantom Felines And Other Ghostly Animals - Gerina Dunwich 2006
The Coming
Phantom Felines
by Lee Prosser
It was January 19, 2005, and I was sitting on the couch at my home in Oklahoma reading a John Steinbeck novel, To a God Unknown. My two Siamese cats, Frank and Barry, were curled up asleep in my lap.
It seemed that time slowed and there was a strange, unusual quietness in the living room. The cats awoke and got off of my lap. They went to the hallway, sat on the carpet, and stared at something. I got up, but I did not see anything unusual. As I started back to the couch, I paused and sensed the coming of something.
Something was coming.
I turned around and saw the ghost of Roz, my departed cat. She was just sitting there, and she appeared to be communicating with Frank and Barry. I called her name, and she heard me. Roz did a little dance, turned, and vanished. The Siamese cats looked at me and returned to the couch. I joined them.
Roz had dropped by to say hello, and it was a welcome visit. Cats have souls and a sense of remembrance, and they never forget those they love and who love them.
