Phantom Felines And Other Ghostly Animals - Gerina Dunwich 2006
Roz and Wiz
Phantom Felines
by Lee Prosser
In the year 2004, I lost two of my beloved cats, Roz and Wiz. They were a true cat couple, and they were always together. Roz was a large mixture of Burmese and Abyssinian, and she loved to play. Wiz was a shy male, large, a mixture of Siamese and Abyssinian. They came out of the same household from different litters. They were both born at Roswell, New Mexico. Roz and Wiz were not old when they died months apart. They both died of pancreatic cancer.
Through 2005 they would return to play on the edge of the bed, or brush by my face. They were always loving, remembering my love for them and sharing their love for me. Now they are playing in the afterlife, somewhere in time, enjoying the fine art of being a cat in each one’s own personal way.
At times, I can sense their presence from a far distance, and I smile and remember their love and the joyful playfulness they brought into my life. When I think of the state of New Mexico and its land of enchantment, I will always recall Roz and Wiz and be thankful they were part of my life.
