LEGENDARY POWER

The hardest substance presently known, Diamond has long been regarded as a symbol of invincibility, what Pliny calls “unconquerable force.” Its brilliant faceted form is comparatively recent. In India, Diamonds were believed to be remnants of a pair of cosmic dragons who engaged in a magical sky battle. In fact, the core elements of Diamonds were created not on Earth but in outer space, revealing our cosmic roots. Over eons, through natural processes, the molecules clustered into a single crystal. The ancients clearly had an inkling of this extraterrestrial source.

Black Diamonds traditionally symbolized the void out of which everything formed, and they conveyed the ability to see into the unknown. Pliny believed Diamonds were formed in gold or rock crystal. The early Greek paradoxographer Apollonius marveled that the stone did not grow hot when placed in fire.

In 1867, children in South Africa picked up a Diamond weighing 22.5 karats, and the great diamond rush was on. Diamonds formed part of the paraphernalia of power of many countries. The 195-karat Orloff Diamond, which topped the Russian imperial scepter, was reputed to have been stolen from the eye of an Indian temple statue in Mysore.

Diamond symbolizes purity and eternity, and is the gem for Archangel Metatron. Traditionally, Diamond enhances and amplifies the power of other stones.

HEALING POWER

Pliny believed Diamonds prevailed over poisons, dispelled attacks of “wild distraction,” and drove groundless fears from the mind. From ancient times and throughout the Middle Ages, Diamond-infused water was drunk to treat jaundice, gallstones, apoplexy, and fevers. Today, Diamond acts at the mental level to induce clarity and stimulate imagination. It protects against geopathic stress and electromagnetic frequencies.

TRANSFORMATIONAL POWER

A Diamond is dull until faceted and polished; its beauty and brilliance must be revealed slowly with patience and care. The cut is crucial for the finished gemstone’s perfection. Unaffected by fire’s heat or water’s coolness, it symbolizes magical survival through elemental changes. Wearing this crystal provides protection and assists in the assimilation of expanded consciousness and soul evolution. Just as a Diamond has to be “worked,” the soul is polished until the refracted light of the inner being creates its own cosmic fire. This gem throws clarity on all that needs to be transmuted and transformed. It is particularly useful for overcoming pride and bringing harmony and accord to the wearer.
