Today is the mysterious baby-jumping festival of El Colacho in Castrillo de Murcia, Spain. Dating back to 1620, all babies born in the previous twelve months are placed on mattresses in the street. Men dressed as devils jump over the babies while crowds watch and cheer. The ritual is performed to absolve the babies from original sin.
