Yellow Magick
The Psybernomicon

The nature of yellow power is balance and vitality. It also governs the building of self-confidence, vitality and inner healing, healing others, discovering the real you, ego and selfimage. Negativity, however, can also confer an overbearing, arrogant, egotistical attitude.

Yellow power is associated with the Sun. Its symbol is the six-pointed star that consists of two perfectly interlaced triangles. The symbol suggests balance and the harmony of opposites. These, in fact, are the keywords of yellow magick. It is also the realm of beauty and solar heroes. Like all other sacrificed gods of the yellow power—King Arthur, Odin, Christ, Osiris—they are destroyed, yet will come again. They are the once and future kings.

The Sun is at the center of the solar system, so yellow power fits in well with the ideas of our total self-expression using the subconscious mind. Just as the Sun is at the center of our solar system, so, symbolically, yellow power is the center, or nervous system, of magick. By using yellow power, we seek to be what we will. In other words, we strive to be ourselves, while drawing on the energies of all the other seven colors. This "being" is expressed as what we truly are, as opposed to what we think we are. Those who seek knowledge of the central ego and the egoself should always look to the yellow power. It represents the center of our being, our inner selves, and our potential.

Balance and harmony are correct life expressions. Everything should be under control and in perspective. This is, however, a far cry from reality, in which most of life's tragedies and inner conflicts are due to our trying to be something we are not. Be yourself and all else will fall into place in perfect harmony. The concept of right thinking must be applied, for to indulge in negative and unbalanced thinking is to go against what you really are. Not only do you get the results of such thoughts, you also produce a clash of interests, with resulting inner tension. By seeking within, by using your subconscious power correctly, you restore balance and become your "self."

All natural healing of imbalanced conditions belongs to yellow magick, for what is disease and discomfort but a lack of balance. Yellow power helps put this right. It restores balance by adjusting energy patterns so that they once again conform to the way you should be. Disease, after all, is a condition of imbalance. Yellow magick is used to restore this balance, thereby healing the disease. Any situation that requires a restoration of harmony will respond to yellow power. Bear in mind that nothing is ever as clear-cut as this. There are always other factors to be taken into consideration. Generally, however, the theory works extremely well. Apart from healing, whatever is put into the subconscious mind will become a reality.

By seeking the truth about what you are and what you need, you will have all that is right and proper. A popular misconception is to view yourself as a "type." For instance: "I am a Sagittarius" or "I am nervous." If you tell yourself these things often enough, you will become them. Fortunately, choice can always be exercised and the process is reversible. Yellow power embraces all that you can become, so it is a mistake to narrow your field of possibilities and restrict your self in these ways. Be what you wish to be, using yellow power as your source of guidance.
