As I sat down to write this, a hawk flew overhead, bearing a message for you, dear reader and fellow Plant Witch. The hawk came to remind you that we all carry the heartbeat of Mother Earth. The Magic you see in the world is simply a reflection of the Magic that lives within you.

This is your journey, your spiritual practice, and your life. In your work with Plant Witchery, make sure to do what feels right to you. All I’ve tried to do here is inspire you, leading you on the first steps of a path where, soon enough, you will begin to receive wisdom yourself. You are fully capable of tapping into all the Magic that exists in this world—and you can do it by creating your own practice. There are no rules or processes that you have to follow; your Magic is yours alone. Your practice will grow and expand as you build a relationship with your Magic, and as you explore the ways in which it will work uniquely for you.

Think back to the beginning. Think back to the time when all our ancestors had was the Earth, the stars, the animals, and themselves. And they were powerful. Nothing else was needed, because they knew what power there is in each of those things. Everything has a spirit, everything has a voice, and everything carries a message . . . including you. You carry a message that the world needs to hear. Speak it loud and clear.

You can find your message by listening within. The world outside isn’t the only world that exists. Be still. Connect to your spirit and allow yourself to tap into your other world, the inner world, the world where your truth lives. Take a walk within and visit the spaces you’ve left untouched.

You may find things there you didn’t want to look at, for we all have our shadows. But this is how you heal, and how you show up to make your offerings to others. The hurt, the pain, the falls, the obstacles, and, most important, the abilities you conjured to get through it all are Magic. Put spirit before fear, prayer before worry, and your light before breaking, and you will be a force for good in this world.

Pray for the Earth, pray for our sisters and brothers, pray for love to rise over the shadows clouding the skies. Pray for the waters to speak in tongues, pray for the trees to sway fiercely, and pray for our mountains to wake the echoes of our Mother’s belly. You carry light, medicine, wisdom, Magic, and the blood of our ancestors, all living loudly within your bones. Show up for our Earth, our people, and, most important, show up for yourself with compassion, love, and unity. Remember the ancient songs that tremble our spirit.
