Shepherd’s purse, belonging to the mustard family, is a common weed found in many parts of the world. Her fruit’s flat, triangular shape is what inspired her name. The mucilage in her seeds trap nematodes, making her a very handy plant to keep in your garden.

MEDICINAL PROPERTIES

Shepherd’s purse can treat heart and circulatory problems and low blood pressure, though she can also help clear up bladder infections, ease headaches, and act as an astringent and as an antidiarrheal. She may also treat menstrual issues, and she contains substances with both anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Be careful, though, as she can cause drowsiness if taken in excessive amounts.

MAGICAL PROPERTIES

Shepherd’s purse is a healing herb that is most commonly known for stopping bleeding—both literally and spiritually. She can stop the bleeding of the spirit by repairing holes in your aura. When these cracks are repaired, the spirit can come back to full strength.
