Mansions of the Moon for the Green Witch: A Complete Book of Lunar Magic - Ann Moura 2010
Magic During Ritual
Additional Components for Lunar Magic
Incorporating magic in a ritual setting adds to the energy and focus, so it is important to have all the materials at hand during an Esbat so that the flow is not interrupted. Review your ritual, set up your altar space, cast your circle, and interject your working where it seems best to you, but normally just prior to the simple feast portion of the ritual. If doing a magical work with a group, have them sit or otherwise relax within the Circle for either a group participation project or for individually accomplished projects. The working portion of the Esbat could be prefaced with an introduction such as the following:
The Moon passes through the signs of the zodiac, daily taking up temporary residence in a different Mansion of the Moon, which affords special energies that can be utilized in magical work.
From there, select the appropriate work from the lunar phase and mansion in Part Three, which contains works for the Waxing Moon and the Full Moon, or Part Four, which has works for the Waning Moon and the Dark Moon. Using the energies, symbols, and correspondences, you may create your own work, tailored to your needs within the mansion. For group work, be sure to have enough materials for everyone, and guide them through the steps of the activity.
