Meditative Practice

Touch your inner space, which is nothingness, as silent and empty as the sky; it is your inner sky. Once you settle down in your inner sky, you have come home, and a great maturity arises in your actions, in your behavior. Then whatever you do has grace in it. Then whatever you do is a poetry in itself. You live poetry; your walking becomes dancing, your silence becomes music.

Meditation is a fundamental practice to prepare you for any activity that will shift consciousness, free yourself of the mental distractions, points of stress, and trivialities that overwhelm our minds in our everyday waking lives. Without control, the energy called forth can become scattered and unfocused. Continued meditative work will develop your foundation. Understand our energy can be transformed and directed to influence the physical world and that this can also be achieved by consistently guiding intended thoughts and feelings. This requires calming oneself.

All schools of mystery build upon the use of a simple method of meditation. Through deep meditation, a change of being may be brought about to elevate vibrational energy and gain transcendental wisdom. As a matter of spiritual training, the student can effectively connect to the higher worlds to extrapolate information from the divine. For this reason, over time, you can experience abstract mental events, which you know as part of your symbolic mind.

These methods lead to an understanding of the issue that can be surprising and provide tremendous insight into your operation. Every possible manifestation of the universe (and the multiverse) are being manifested through your existence. This is why meditation is so important as a technique to evolve your consciousness. It is only the enlightened who can realize that the crowning achievement is enhancing one’s consciousness so that the soul can be initiated into the higher mysteries of mankind, and thereby become one with the divine, for all eternity.

Beginning with a simple meditation exercise will help you build a foundation. In conducting this exercise, soft lighting and incense help create the right atmosphere. Start by sitting upright with your eyes closed. Hold each breath for a moment and exhale deeply before taking your next breath.

Inhale through your nose and draw the breath in towards your solar plexus, which corresponds with Tiphareth. This center is a point of transition for the spirit and is a center of balance for all energies. Visualize a bright yellow light emanating from your solar plexus and take another breath, growing brighter as you inhale. Take a third breath and picture the light growing even more brilliant. Continue this for three more breaths.

Now take a breath into the upper chest. Feel your shoulders rise with this breath and envision the yellow light filling your entire body. With each breath, know you are absorbing energy from the universe and storing it.

Spend several minutes breathing in smooth rhythm and envision the energy filling your body so that it may be used for your operation.

To release the energy for an operation, you will reverse this process with exhalation. As you wish to push your energy out, envision the light coming out as you exhale or through your hands as you hold an object. You will feel the energy flowing throw you and outward to empower your working.

You may also use this method to charge crystals or talismans. These objects can work as a power storage device and hold massive amounts of energy you can pull from in a later operation. This is a compelling way to charge candles, as well.

Other meditative practices can provide significant benefits in a state of active meditation. The methods applied during your rite are all a meditation in and of themselves. A powerful meditation that we will be making use of is The Ritual of the Hexagram. This ritual uses a symbol, also known as the Star of David, which represents the macrocosm. When employing the ritual correctly, this symbol can be used to invoke the help of ethereal powers for your magickal operation’s success. By performing this correctly, you will alter the surrounding environment to become ideal for a spiritual encounter by calling forth divine power, which transforms your energetic field.

This seal is the key to far more than it seems. It is not an equivalent to the Lesser Ritual of the Pentagram and should be used for rites that demand substantial power. This ritual brings you into contact with the divine power invested in you. Prepare yourself to properly handle the energy influx that this ritual can draw in.

Once the portal is opened, take heed that beings from other realms can enter into our density more easily. Therefore, it is highly recommended that you seal the portal once your operation is completed. This will prevent any unnecessary and unwanted energies coming forward and causing disruptions in your environment. If you are interrupted while conducting an operation, know that no negative consequence will result, but you must seal the gates as soon as possible. The rite can be restarted at any time after that.

The Hexagram has a direct correspondence with planetary energies which can be observed when it is aligned on the tree of life with Yesod on the bottom. Invocations are performed in a clockwise manner, reverse the direction to banish. For standard operations that are not explicitly invoking additional planetary energies, the format starting at the top point of the Hexagram (which also serves as the Hexagram of Saturn) may be used. For invoking or banishing planetary energies, the starting point corresponding to that planet should be the starting point.

Drawing a circle around the Hexagram will confine force and should not be done for this particular ritual. The Hexagram is composed of two triangles, namely Fire and Water. Therefore it is not drawn continuously like the Pentagram, but by each respective triangle separately.

The Hexagram of a particular planet is drawn in two triangles, the first from the planet’s angle, the second from the opposite angle to the initial angle of the first. It is recommended that the circle of protection is entered into when conducting all Rituals of the Hexagram.

The Hebrew transliteration “Achad Rosh Achdotho Rosh Ichudo Temurato Achad” will be used for the ritual. This is more commonly found as the acronym in various texts as “ARARITA.” This is interpreted to mean “One is the beginning of his unity and uniqueness of singularity.” Utilizing the hexagram ritual is a proper way to extract the necessary power for effective magic.
