A Circle of Stones: Journeys and Meditations for Modern Celts - Erynn Rowan Laurie 1995
Endless Sky
The boundless sky overarches all our lives, defining the dome of the heavens. It holds the patterns of the stars that reveal mysteries dancing through the night, and the sun and moon in their eternal circling. The Tuatha Dé Danann sailed through this realm in their boats on the winds, and the sky is the center from which all the winds have their origin.
Is tu grian nan neamha,
Is tu gile nan speura,
Is tu reul agus ceuma
Nam faontrach.
(Scottish Gaelic source: Carmichael, Alexander, Carmina Gadelica, vol III, Scottish Academic Press, Edinburgh 1972.)
Thou art the sun of the heavens,
Thou art the moon of the skies,
Thou art the star and the path
Of the wanderers.
